Sirens: Man Arrested After Found Climbing on Roof of Commercial Building, Chehalis Man Arrested for Mischief at Health Care Facility, Mud-Splashing Leads to Assault

Man Arrested After Found Climbing on Roof of Commercial Building

• At 12:17 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the 200 block of West Main Street after a man was found climbing on the roof of a commercial building. Miguel A. Palermo-Vasquez, 36, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing. A search of Palermo-Vasquez’ possessions reportedly led officers to find methamphetamine, and the suspect was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. 

Suitcase, Clothing Stolen From Store

• At 12:47 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a theft from a store in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue. A suitcase and clothing were reported stolen. 

Chehalis Suspects Accused of Eating Food at Restaurant, Not Having Money to Pay

• At 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Zachary R. Carson, 20, of Chehalis and Alexander E. Morris, 18, of Chehalis on suspicion of “defrauding an innkeeper” after they allegedly ordered food at a restaurant “knowing they did not have the money to pay for it,” according to the Centralia Police department. Both suspects were arrested and released at the scene with a court date. 

Chehalis Man Arrested for Mischief at Health Care Facility

• At 8:46 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of malicious mischief in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road. Jeremy A. Goldner, 32, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief and interfering with a healthcare facility.  

Mud-Splashing Leads to Assault

• At 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1100 block of J Street. A male suspect reportedly drove by another man and splashed mud from a puddle on the victim as he was moving past. The alleged victim then reportedly “flipped the suspect off.” The suspect then reportedly assaulted the victim. No arrests were made.  

Suspects Accused of Shoplifting Flee in Stolen Vehicle

• At 2:13 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1400 block of Lum Road. Three male suspects reportedly stole merchandise and fled in a black Honda vehicle that had been reported stolen in Tacoma. 

Assault Suspect Arrested

• At 9:23 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1500 block of Lewis Street and arrested Lino Amon, 28, of Centralia, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

Heroin Possession

• At 1:01 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Teresa S. Belser, 27, of Quincy, on suspicion of possession of heroin. 

Olympia Suspect Booked on Trespassing Charge, Illegal Weapon

• At 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Russell S. Edwards, 56, of Olympia, on suspicion of trespassing. Edwards was also reportedly found to be in possession of an illegal weapon and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on that charge as well. 

Chehalis Police Department 

Food Truck Burglarized

• At 10:26 a.m. on Monday, a burglary was reported to a food truck in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. The burglary reportedly occurred Saturday night or Sunday morning.  

Identity Theft

• At 1:19 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of an identity theft in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue in Chehalis. 

Harassment Reported

• At 10:33 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of harassment from the 400 block of Northwest Prindle Street. A woman reported her boss was following and harassing her and that she quit her job. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. 

DUI

• At 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Tracy L. Rojo, 32, of Toledo, on suspicion of driving under the influence, third-degree driving with a suspended license and a warrant. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 216 inmates, including 182 in general population, 33 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 140 were men and 42 women and of WERC inmates, 30 were men and three women.
