Sirens: $3,000 in Jackets Shoplifted, Garden Shed Burglarized, Edmonds Man Arrested on Drug Charge, Warrants

Vehicle Tab Stolen

• At 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday, a license plate tab was reported stolen in the 2500 block of Eureka Avenue. The theft occurred between Thursday and Monday. 

Woman Arrested for Alleged No Contact Order Violation

• At 4:34 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1400 block of Johnson Road and arrested Tayra F. Hall, 36, of Centralia, on suspicion of violation of a no-contact order. 

$3,000 in Jackets Shoplifted

• At 7:27 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of two male shoplifters taking $3,000 in jackets from a store in the 1000 block of Lum Road. The men reportedly fled in a green Honda Accord.  

Teen Arrested on DUI Charge After Hitting Parked Car, Damaging Garage

• At 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Elm Street and arrested a 17-year-old girl on suspicion of driving under the influence after a collision. The girl reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a parked vehicle in a residence’s driveway. The parked vehicle then hit a garage, causing structural damage. 

Burglary Reported

• At 9:48 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a burglary in the 1900 block of Trillium Lane in Centralia. A purse and other items were reported stolen from a residence.  

Vehicle Window Smashed

• At 6:36 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 400 block of East Main Street. A vehicle window was broken and the vehicle was keyed. 

Garden Shed Burglarized

• At 9:32 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported to a garden shed in the 300 block of Kearney Street. Propane canisters were stolen. 

Shoplifter Gives Back Items, Flees Scene

• At 12:33 p.m. on Wednesday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. Store staff confronted the suspect who reportedly gave the stolen items back and fled the area. No arrests were made.  

DUI

• At 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Vera J. Welch, 23, of Rainier, on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Flag Taken

• At 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, a flag was reported stolen from a flag pole in front of a residence in the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue. 

Edmonds Man Arrested on Drug Charge, Warrants

• At 10:26 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of West Main Street and arrested Victor V. Sands, 33, of Edmonds, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and on outstanding warrants.

Hit and Runs

• At 12:16 p.m. on Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday, a hit and run was reported in the 500 block of Southwest Riverside Drive. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 4:18 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A purse was stolen. 

Protection Order Violated

• At 7:52 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a violation of a protection order in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street. 

Malicious Mischief

• At 10:42 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 500 block of Southwest Parkland Drive.

Theft Suspect Arrested

• At 4:34 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter trying to take a hatchet and other items from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Ryan B. Olson, 29, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft.  

Trespasser Reported

• At 5:54 a.m. on Wednesday, a trespasser was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Guns, Ammunition Stolen from Vader Residence

• At 2:40 p.m. on Monday, deputies received a report of a theft of firearms at a residence in the 300 block of Annonen Road in Vader. The theft occurred between October and March. A pistol, a revolver and eight to 12 boxes of 12-gauge shotgun shells were reported stolen. The case is under investigation. 

Tools Stolen from Randle Campground

• At 11:54 a.m. on Monday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary to a shop at the Cowlitz Falls Campground in the 800 block of Peters Road in Randle. Tools including a drill bit set, sander, saw attachment and socket sets were stolen and about $500 in damage was reported to a door. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Thursday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 228 inmates with 192 in general population, 33 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 153 were male and 39 female and of WERC inmates, 29 were male and four female. A total of 29 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
