Thief Breaks Into Fenced Area, Vehicle

• At 8:51 a.m. Monday, police were called to the 1000 block of South Gold Street on a report that someone gained access to a fenced-in area to break into a vehicle.

 

Thefts

• At 10:16 a.m. Monday, a theft of a generator was reported at a business in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street.

• At 9:24 a.m. Tuesday, a theft of a license plate was reported in the 1200 block of Marion Street.

• At 10:14 a.m. Tuesday, a theft of a generator was reported at the 700 block of Vienna Street.

 

Suspect Hospitalized for Medical Issue After Resisting Arrest

• At 3:20 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 100 block of West High Street and arrested Sebastian F. Rangel, 28, of Rochester on suspicion of resisting arrest. Rangel suffered from unrelated medical issues and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released with a court date.

 

Juvenile Booked for Threats

• At 8:23 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of Johnson Road and arrested a male juvenile on suspicion of making threats to harm staff members at a school.

 

Woman Booked for Contempt of Court

• At 12:09 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of West Maple Street and arrested Bethia L. Williams, 55, of Centralia on suspicion of contempt of court. Williams was booked into the Lewis County Jail where she was ordered to stay for 24 hours.

 

Burglary

• At 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, a burglary was reported in the 1800 block of Ahlers Avenue. Someone stole construction materials from a building site.

• At 7:42 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 800 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Yuriy Gaidaichuk, 24, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run.

 

Trespass Suspect Booked

• At 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of Alexander Street and arrested Jennifer J. Johnson, 44, of Toledo on suspicion of criminal trespass.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 6:28 a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 3300 block of Borst Avenue.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Teen Arrested for Drug Violation

• At 1:45 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street and arrested a 17-year-old Chehalis boy on suspicion of a drug violation.

 

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 4:42 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue and arrested Garrett S. Beal, 25, of Spokane on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Caller Sees Gun During Dispute

• At 9:38 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported seeing a man brandish a gun during an argument with a woman.

 

Suspicious Male Spotted Peeking in Windows

• At 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 2500 block of North National Avenue reported seeing a man wandering around the area, peeking in windows and urinating on the side of a building.

 

Theft Suspect Referred

• At 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and referred a 24-year-old Centralia woman on suspicion of third-degree theft.

 

Police Book Assault Suspect

• At 10:19 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue and arrested Coltyn E. Read, 28, of Selah on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 222 inmates, with 191 in general population, 29 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 156 were male and 35 were female and of WERC inmates, 25 were male and four were female. A total of 39 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
