Sirens: Gun Stolen; Teen Faces Charge After Alcohol Overdose; Man Arrested After DUI Rollover

Centralia Police Department

Assault Charges

• At 7:07 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of an assault in the 1200 block of Windsor Avenue. A suspect will be issued a court summons for fourth-degree assault.

• At 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1200 block of Alder Street. A juvenile male was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after a physical dispute with his mother, according to the police department. 

• Edward R. Berglund, 52, of Centralia, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Vehicle Prowls

• At 2:43 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 2800 block of Russell Road. Money was missing from the vehicle.

Cars Stolen

• At 7:34 p.m. on Saturday, a white 1994 Geo Metro was reported stolen in the 300 block of South Tower Avenue. 

• At 11:07 a.m. on Monday, a 1994 Honda Accord was reported stolen in the 1700 block of Providence Lane.

Malicious Mischief

• At 10:46 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of malicious mischief to a vehicle the previous night in the 100 block of Virginia Drive.

• At 11:45 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 700 block of Euclid Way. A suspect allegedly broke a window on a vehicle during a domestic argument.

Cellphone Stolen

• At 1:49 p.m. on Sunday, a cellphone was reported stolen from the 100 block of West Maple Street.

DUI

• At 12:45 a.m. on Monday, Ruben E. Lopez Youckton, 28, of Rochester, was arrested on suspicion of DUI near the intersection of Main and Pearl streets.

Gun Stolen

• At 12:22 p.m. on Monday, a firearm was reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of South Gold Street. 

Coat, Phone Taken in Burglary

At 9:26 p.m. on Monday, a burglary was reported in the 500 block of Ash Street. A coat and cellphone were taken.

 

Chehalis Police Department

CO2 Cartridges Stolen

• At 1:18 p.m. on Friday, a package of CO2 cartridges was reported stolen in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana. 

Accused Shoplifters Cited

• At 3:35 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue. Bradley R. Porter, 27, of Eatonville, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking a DeWalt tool valued at $127.25.

• At 1:32 p.m. on Saturday, Courtney R. Blurton, 29, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for an outstanding warrant and on suspicion of third-degree theft.

• At 5:32 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a man shoplifting a 50-foot TV cable in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Gerardo Ramirez-Dado, 22, of Centralia, was later cited on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking the $14.97 cable. 

Protection Order Violated

• At 4:50 p.m. on Friday, police received a report that a protection order was violated in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made.

Man Arrested After Assault Report

• At 10:03 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a dispute between a man and a woman in the 100 block of Southwest Third Street. Nathan A.L. Hope, 29, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, third-degree malicious mischief and interfering with reporting of domestic violence. 

Hit and Run

• At 4:28 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a hit and run on Southeast Adams Avenue in Chehalis.

Teen Faces Charge After Alcohol Overdose

• At 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, police and aid units responded to a report of a minor in possession of alcohol in the 500 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue. The 13-year-old boy from Chehalis was reportedly overdosing on alcohol. He was transported by an aid unit to Providence Centralia Hospital and will be referred to prosecutors on suspicion of being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Harassment Reported

• At 12:31 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of harassment from the 300 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue. 

Disturbance Goes Nuclear

• At 1:16 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of disorderly conduct in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court in 

Chehalis. A person was reported shouting that they had a nuclear bomb.

Driver Arrested on DUI Charge After Driving into Car, Fence, Ditch

• At 6:38 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a possible drunken driver near the intersection of Galvin Road and Union Avenue in Galvin. A witness reportedly observed the driver collide with another vehicle and a fence before driving away. Deputies caught up with the vehicle on Lincoln Creek Road and arrested Gale R. Helm, 67, of Oakville, on suspicion of driving under the influence. When Helm pulled over for deputies, he allegedly drove partway into a ditch. No damage was reported to the other vehicle or the fence, but Helm’s vehicle was damaged. 

Winlock Man Arrested After DUI-Related Rollover

• At 11 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report of a crash in the 600 block of Winlock-Vader Road in Winlock. Clayton F. Gish, 39, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Gish was reportedly wearing his seat belt, but received contusions after the 2005 Jeep Liberty he was driving rolled over. The Jeep was totaled. Gish was medically cleared at Providence Centralia Hospital before being booked into the Lewis County Jail.
