Fraud Victim Convinced to Send Money Overseas

• At 1 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of fraud in the 300 block of West Pine Street. A person reported they were convinced to send money overseas to an unknown person through a bank transfer. The case is under investigation. 

Bicycle Stolen

• At 2:12 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a theft of a red “WeThePeople” brand BMX bicycle from the 100 block of Aurora Street. 

Phone Taken

• At 3:57 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a stolen cellphone in the 1200 block of Mellen Street. 

One Booked for Assault Charge

• At 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, Lucas D. Bryan, 25, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault in the 2800 block of Russell Road. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

‘Gang’ Graffiti Found on Playground Toy

• At 9:57 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a “gang” graffiti on a playground toy in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street.  

Burglary Reported

• At 11:23 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a burglary on Southwest 10th Street in Chehalis. A resident reported her door was broken in while she was out that morning. 

Packages Stolen

• At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a package stolen from an apartment in the 600 block of Northwest West Street. 

Shoplifter Reported

• At 8:56 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made. 

Police Respond to Dispute at Restaurant

• At 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of disorderly conduct at a restaurant in the 1500 block of Louisiana Avenue. 

Burglary Reported

• At 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a burglary of a back patio in the 400 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue.  

One Cited on Assault Charge

• At 10:46 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of an assault on Southwest 11th Street. Talen C. Maddux, 25, of Chehalis, was cited on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Officers Give Man Warning After Report of Disturbance

• At 12:35 a.m. on Friday, officers received a report of a man running around with a knife in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. One person was given a warning. 

Man Arrested After Rock Thrown Through Screen Door

• At 1:35 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a person throwing a rock through a glass screen door in the 600 block of Northwest Folsom Street. Carey R. Cosgrove, 35, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief.

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Teen Booked for Having Marijuana in Running Car

• At 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the 100 block of Gershick Road in Silver Creek after getting a 911 hangup call. They saw a car parked in the Silver Creek Post Office parking lot, and contacted the occupants to see if they had called 911. When the car’s window was rolled down, a “plume” of marijuana smoke blew out of the running car, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The driver, Tristan B. Watson, 19, of Mossyrock, was arrested on suspicion of having physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated, and for being a minor in possession of marijuana after failing a field sobriety test.
