Malicious Mischief Reported
• At 12:10 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 2800 block of Mt. Vista Road. A padlock was cut from a gate.
Vehicle Stolen
• At 2:38 p.m. on Friday, a black 2007 PT Cruiser was reported stolen from a locked garage in the 1100 block of South Silver Street.
Forged Checks Reported
• At 3:25 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of fraud in the 900 block of G Street. A woman reported that she befriended a man online who asked her to cash checks for him and send back the money. The checks were identified as forged.
Bicycle Stolen
• At 4:37 p.m. on Friday, a bicycle was reported stolen in the 600 block of M Street.
Woman Cited on Malicious Mischief Charge
• At 11:54 p.m. on Friday, police arrested and released Christina M. Owre, 37, of Centralia, in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief.
Fuel, Batteries Stolen from Vehicles
• At 9:49 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of thefts from vehicles in the 2600 block of Howard Avenue. Several residents reported fuel taken from their vehicles overnight. Batteries were stolen from three vehicles.
Theft Suspect Cited
• At 3:43 p.m. on Saturday, police cited Yolanda Navarro-Sanchez, 62, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree theft in the 1300 block of Lum Road.
Children’s Clothing Taken
• At 4:38 p.m. on Saturday, two articles of children’s clothing were reported stolen from a store in the 1400 block of Lum Road.
Man Booked After Burglary Reported
• At 5:33 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a burglary alarm in the 1000 block of Caveness Drive. Joel A. Towne, 36, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary. The Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office declined to file charges.
Unattended Campfire Spreads
• At 11:53 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of an unattended campfire that spread and began burning an area in the 800 block of Field Street. An investigation into second-degree reckless burning is ongoing.
Paint Sprayer Stolen
• At 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, a paint sprayer was reported stolen from a yard in the 1000 block of B Street.
Ashford Man Booked for Allegedly Stealing Road Sign
• At 4:51 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested Bryan R. Morford, 33, of Ashford, in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue, and booked him into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of third-degree theft. Morford allegedly stole a road sign from the Interstate 5 construction site at Harrison Avenue, then used it to break a water spigot at Centralia’s skate park.
Thief Makes Off With $800 in Merchandise at Outlet
• At 5:31 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a second-degree theft at a factory outlet store in the 1400 block of Lum Road. Three suspects reportedly entered the store and stole more than $800 in merchandise before fleeing in a silver car with Oregon license plates. The case is under investigation.
Assault Suspect Arrested
• At 8:48 p.m. on Sunday, police arrested Mackenzie R. Abbot, 20, of Lyle, near the intersection of Belmont and Harrison avenues on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.
Counterfeit $100 Spotted
• At 5:50 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a counterfeit $100 bill passed at a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

Woman Arrested on Meth Charge After Theft Complaint
• At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way. Officers arrested the suspect, Sabrina L.R. Towne, 23, of Centralia, and a search incident to her arrest reportedly revealed methamphetamine. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of possession of meth and referred for third-degree theft.
Counterfeit Cash Reported
• At 3:58 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a counterfeit $100 bill in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.
Fireworks Violation Reported
• At 7:43 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of fireworks being discharged in the 300 block of Southeast Park Hill Drive.
Trespassers Reported
• At 7:27 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of people camping and trespassing on property in the 300 block of South Third Street. No arrests were made.
• At 4:30 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a trespasser in the 300 block of Southwest Newaukum Avenue.
Alleged Shoplifters Reported
• At 7:44 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. A 13-year-old Chehalis girl is being referred to juvenile court on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly stealing gummy worms.
• At 4:02 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Amberley M. Morehead, 23, of Chehalis, was arrested and released on suspicion of third-degree theft after reportedly trying to return more than $100 in merchandise without a receipt.
• At 1:53 p.m. on Monday, Amanda L. Lopez, 35, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly stealing a tool valued at $64.
• At 6:12 p.m. on Monday, police cited Zacharey J. Hanley, 26, of Onalaska, on suspicion of third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for allegedly stealing shoes valued at $15.
Harassment Reported
• At 7:52 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of harassment in the area of the intersection of Southwest Second Street and McFadden Avenue. No arrests were made.
Woman Booked on Assault Charge
• At 11:58 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of an assault in the 300 block of West Main Street. LaDawn B. Jorgenson, 31, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
Identity Theft
• At 2:29 p.m. on Monday, a person in the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue reported fraudulent use of their debit card.
California Man Cited on Assault Charge
• At 4:15 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. George Cook, 38, of Chula Vista, California, was cited on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
Gasoline Stolen
• At 5:20 p.m. on Monday, police received a report that gasoline was siphoned from three vehicles in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue.
Morton Police Department
Officers Help Get Stray Dog Home
• At 4:52 p.m. on July 11, officers helped located the owner of a stray dog brought to Morton City Hall.
Officers Respond to Report of Rabbit Carcasses
• At 4:21 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 600 block of Airport Way in Morton to a report of a person finding several rabbit carcasses in a large metal trash bin. When officers arrived, the bin had already been emptied, and no evidence of the report remained.
Animal Abuse Reported
• At 2:07 p.m. on Sunday, a woman near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Division Street in Morton reported seeing a man punch and beat a chocolate Labrador several times, pick it up by its feet and throw the animal in the back of a truck. The incident is under investigation.
