Sirens: DUI Suspects Booked; Group Seen Passing Around Joint in Public

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Suspect Booked For Alleged Hospital Disturbance

• At 11:19 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Walter Christofferson, 51, of Tenino on suspicion of interference with  a healthcare facility, after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the hospital.

 

Victim Reports Residential Burglary

• At 8:12 p.m. Friday, a burglary was reported in the 1200 block of Marion Street. The victim reported that someone stole a purse and its contents.

 

DUI Suspects Booked

• At 8:14 p.m. Friday, police responded to the intersection of Johnson Road and Linda Lane and arrested Carl R. Wareing, 45, of Chehalis on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 10:26 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the intersection of Harrison and View avenues and arrested Juvenal A. Gomez-Ortiz, 38, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 10:31 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue and arrested Tyler J. Carbaugh, 27, of Rochester on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Suspect Arrested, Released Three Times for Alleged Criminal Trespass

• At 1:53 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested and released a 50-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of criminal trespass after he allegedly entered an establishment where he had been previously trespassed. The same suspect was arrested and released at 2:28 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue for again allegedly entering an establishment where he had previously been trespassed. The same suspect was arrested and released a third time at 8:19 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue after allegedly returning to a property where he had previously been trespassed.

 

Two Booked on Suspicion of Assault After Altercation

• At 2:52 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of J Street and arrested Michael A. Post, 55, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and Brandon R. Percy, 35, of Tacoma on suspicion of second-degree assault — domestic violence. The two allegedly got into a fight, and during the altercation Percy allegedly tried to strangle Post.

Police Report Finding Drugs On Woman During Warrant Arrest

• At 11:24 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1200 block of Alder Street and arrested Brittney N. Burgard, 30, of Centralia on a Department of Corrections warrant and on suspicion of possession of meth and heroin. Police allegedly found the drugs on her when they were arresting her for the warrant.

 

Hit and Runs

• At 2:52 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue.

• At 8:02 a.m. Sunday, a hit and run was reported in the 300 block of North Pearl Street. Someone struck a parked vehicle overnight.

 

Suspects Arrested on Malicious Mischief, Assault Allegations

• At 7:19 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of South Silver Street and arrested Jon B. Wilson, 55, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence and Sonji K. Wilson, 50, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence.

 

Theft

• At 10:44 a.m. Sunday, a bag of dog food was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of B Street.

 

Meth Possession

• At 3:38 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 800 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Kimberly R. Iverson, 43, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of meth.

 

Washing Machine Stolen, Soda Machine Damaged at Apartment Complex

• At 10:15 a.m. Sunday, a caller in the 1400 block of Lewis Street reported that someone severed the line to a washing machine, causing the water to overflow. A coin-operated washing machine was stolen and a soda machine was also damaged in what police believe to be an attempt to steal the soda machine’s coin mechanism.

 

Suspect Booked on Suspicion of Vehicle Prowl

• At 6:50 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1400 block of View Avenue. Someone stole a license plate, documents and other miscellaneous items.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Thefts

• At 2:11 p.m. Friday, a theft of cash and credit cards from a purse was reported in the 1600 block of North National Avenue.

• At 4:40 p.m. Sunday, a theft of a wicker loveseat was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street. The seat was taken from a front porch.

 

Group Seen Passing Around Joint in Public

• At 2:28 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard reported two male and two female subjects were seen smoking marijuana outside a public bathroom.

 

Suspect Arrested, Released on Assault Allegation

• At 2:55 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue and arrested and released a 32-year-old Spokane woman on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Store Customer Spends Hours in Store Without Buying, Concerns Workers

• At 7:29 p.m. Friday, police were requested in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard after a woman spent about four hours in a store, repeatedly filling a bucket and dumping the contents into a pail, and reacting negatively when approached by staff members.

 

Suspect Booked for Disorderly Conduct

• At 8:53 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue and arrested Kimberly R. Terrell, 41, of Chehalis on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

 

Teen Detained For Shoplifting

• At 11 p.m. Saturday, police were requested in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard, where a 13-year-old male was detained at a store for shoplifting. The teen was being cooperative. No arrests were reported.

 

Drunk Man Throws Beer Bottle at Crowd of People

• At 1:02 a.m. Sunday, an allegedly drunk man in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue threw a beer bottle at a crowd as he walked by.

 

Assault Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 8:20 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue and released a 50-year-old Toledo man on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 250 inmates, with 218 in general population, 29 in the work ethic and restitution center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 172 were male and 46 were female and of WERC inmates, 27 were male and two were female. A total of 28 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
