CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Man Steals Alcohol from Store

• At 4:22 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue regarding a male who walked out of a store without paying for alcohol.

 

Drivers Cited for Suspended Licenses

• At 7:36 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of South Gold Street and cited Steven J. Clokey, 47, of Chehalis on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

• At 8:12 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road and  cited Shelliene B. Mann, 30, of Centralia on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

• At 9:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 600 block of South Silver Street and cited Jacob D. Conklin, 26, of Centralia on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

 

Wallet Snagged From Purse

• At 8:14 p.m. Saturday, a theft of a wallet taken from a purse was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue.

 

Group Assaults Out-of-Towners, Steals Their Shoes

• At 1:34 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call in the 1500 block of South Gold Street, indicating a large group of people were fighting. Officers found two 18-year-old male victims, neither from the area, who said they were assaulted by a group of strangers who then stole their shoes.

 

 Teen Treated for ‘Severe Intoxication’

• At 1:57 a.m. Sunday, officers found a 17-year-old male in the 1500 block of South Gold Street holding a bottle of vodka. The teen was referred for a charge of minor in possession of liquor and was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for medical treatment for severe intoxication.

 

Solar-Powered Lawn Lights Stolen

• At 9:37 a.m. Sunday, a theft of five solar-powered lawn lights was reported in the 1000 block of Elm Street.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Suspect in Truck Break-in Spotted

• At 7:33 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of North Market Street after a caller stated they had seen the suspect of a vehicle break-in from a couple days back. The suspect was walking down a roadway. No arrests were reported.

 

Man Seen ‘Screaming’ at Woman

• At 10:45 a.m. Friday, police were notified of a male screaming at a female in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Driver Strikes Pole on Overpass

• At 5:28 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 800 block of West Main Street after a driver struck a pole in the 800 block of West Main Street. The pole was knocked down and blocking the roadway. Officers cited and released Donald Reinseth, 80, of Chehalis on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

 Man Seen Harassing People in Parking Lot

• At 5:59 p.m. Friday, police were notified of a man on a bike harassing people in a parking lot in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue.

 

Two Trespassers in Local Store

• At 6:44 p.m. Friday, police were notified of two subjects who had been asked to leave a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue the day prior had returned.

 

Police Book Man on Suspicion of Assault

• At 8:31 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue and arrested John Strong, 80, of Chehalis on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Drunk Group Reported in Restaurant, One of Them Naked

• At 12:45 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue after a caller said a group of drunk people were in a restaurant. One of the group took off his clothes and was running around naked, and another urinated in front of the building.

 

Customer Attempted Passing Counterfeit Bill

• At 1:38 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Frederick C. Vermilyea, 39, of Waldport, Oregon on suspicion of counterfeiting.

 

Collared Dog Seen on the Loose

• At 10:48 a.m. Saturday, police were notified about a lost dog wearing a collar seen running around the area of Market Boulevard and 19th Street.

 

 Phone Scam Reported

• At 12:37 p.m. Saturday, a phone scam was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Rhode Island Place.

 

 Man Booked on Suspicion of Assault

• At 2:36 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Daniel V. Estrada, 56, of Kent on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Out-of-Control Juvenile Reported

• At 4:23 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of Northeast Washington Avenue to a call about an out-of-control juvenile throwing furniture and threatening to kill people.

 

Two-Car Collision Causes Injury

• At 11:17 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the 2500 block of North National Avenue. One driver was injured.

 

Theft Reported

• At 12:08 p.m. Sunday, a theft of a bicycle was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard.

 

Man Seen Screaming,

Punching Van

• At 12:21 p.m. Sunday, a man in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was seen yelling and punching a vehicle in the parking lot. The caller advised kids were in the van.

 

Teen on Skateboard Sets Off Fireworks

• At 2:57 a.m. Monday, a teen on a skateboard was seen setting off fireworks in the area of Third Street and McFadden Avenue.

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

 

Man Suspected of Assault on Fairgrounds

• At 6:02 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 2500 block of National Avenue and referred Brian P. Wilson, 58, of Centralia for suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

DUI Arrests

• At 7:47 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 200 block of Woodard Road and arrested Raymond C. Hamilton Jr., 50, of Chehalis on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 1:26 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to Interstate 5 near mile marker 76 and arrested Karla Y. Johnson, 50, of Kent on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 238 inmates, with 200 in general population and 38 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 161 were male and 39 were female and of WERC inmates, 34 were male and four were female. A total of 42 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
