Suspect Arrested for Altercation with Hospital Staffer

• At 9:22 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Justice J. Anderson, 28, of Kelso on suspicion of third-degree assault after an alleged physical altercation with a healthcare worker.

 

About $6,000 Worth of Equipment Stolen From Building

• At 11:20 a.m. Monday, someone in the 3000 block of Galvin Road reported an unknown person stole two ARC welders and other tools, totaling around $6,000 in value. The person had cut a hole in a fence to get to the goods.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 11:38 a.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2500 block of Mt. Vista Road. Someone stole multiple items.

 

Suspect Walks Out of Store Wearing Stolen Shoes

• At 12:29 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 1300 block of Lum Road reported a male subject entered a store, put on a new pair of shoes, put  his old shoes in a box, and then walked out wearing the new shoes and without paying.

 

Hit and Run

• At 1:37 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 400 block of West Pine Street.

 

Woman Booked for Imprisonment, Eluding

• At 4:57 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 1300 block of Johnson Road and arrested Margaret A. Shilman, 49, of Centralia on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and eluding after an alleged physical argument with a man.

 

Man Cited for Breaking Phone

• At 5:58 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 800 block of G Street and cited and released a Centralia resident on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence after allegedly breaking a woman’s phone during an argument.

 

Suspect Booked for Interfering with Hospital Staff

• At 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of Scheuber Road and arrested Douglas L. Sevier Jr., 47, of Centralia on suspicion of interfering with a healthcare facility.

 

Collision Causes Injury

• At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle collision occurred at Marion Street and Oxford Avenue, resulting in injury. The at-fault driver was cited.

 

Man Booked for Malicious Mischief

• At 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 500 block of South Ash Street and arrested Keith A. Palm, 29, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief — domestic violence.

 

Police Arrest Assault Suspect

• At 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1600 block of Ham Hill Road and arrested Krista J. Geist, 56, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Suspect Tries to Break Into Water Pump Station

• At 10:57 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 900 block of Northwest Airport Road after a caller said there was evidence someone tried to break into a water pump station overnight.

 

Theft

• At 11:44 a.m. Monday, a theft of a cellphone was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The reporting party said the theft occurred the day prior.

 

Hit and Runs

• At 12:46 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard.

• At 1:55 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street.

 

Disorderly Patron Spits On Store Staff Member

• At 3:27 p.m. Monday, police were requested at the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue where a disorderly female patron was “yelling and screaming” and at one point spat on a staff member.

 

Suspects Try Passing Fake $100 Bills

• At 9:16 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported an unspecified number of suspects tried paying for merchandise with four fraudulent $100 bills. The suspects didn’t make off with the merchandise, and store staff was able to provide police with vehicle descriptions.

 

Female Subject Possibly Under Influence, Pulls Pants Down in Parking Lot

• At 9:27 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue told police they wanted a woman in the parking lot placed on trespass. The woman was “possibly under the influence of something” the caller advised and was pulling her own pants down.

 

Child Seen Walking Alone, Crying

• At 8:04 a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the area of McFadden Avenue and Fourth Street for a male child walking alone and crying.

 

Custodial Assault Reported

• At 10:46 a.m. Tuesday, a custodial assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. A subject became upset and began punching and kicking an unspecified number of victims. No arrest was reported.

 

Person Removed from Area After Taking A Swing at Someone

• At 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue after a client took a swing at a counselor and was removed from the area.

 

Assault Reported

• At 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported a physical altercation. No arrests were reported.

 

Man Seen Lighting Up Glass Pipe

• At 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, someone in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue called the police, reporting a male subject in a truck in a parking lot lighting a glass pipe.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue.

 

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

 

Driver Cited for School Bus Crash

• At 7:36 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the area of Jackson Highway and Bishop Road for an accident involving a school bus. The bus belonged to the Chehalis School District and had 38 students on board. The bus was stopped and had the stop arm out. A pickup truck struck another vehicle and pushed it into the bus. One female student said she struck her head during the collision, but no other injuries were reported. The driver of the truck was cited with second-degree negligent driving.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 228 inmates, with 196 inmates in general population and 32 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 157 were male and 39 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and four were female. A total of 42 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
