Sirens: Driver Arrested for Illegally Possessing Gun After Traffic Stop; DUIs

Centralia Police Department

Hit and Run

• At 12:19 p.m. on Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard. 

 

DUIs

• At 4:44 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of South Gold Street and arrested Uriah J. Fry, 25, of Centralia, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 1:17 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 900 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested Adolfo Ayala-Valencia, 47, of Centralia, on suspicion of DUI. 

• At 2:50 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1600 block of Windsor Avenue and arrested Henry Herrera-Montealegre, 33, of Centralia, on suspicion of first-degree driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence and possession of methamphetamine. 

 

Suspects Cited on Shoplifting Charges

• At 2:09 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue for a report of a shoplifter. Megan R. L. Smith, 26, of Chehalis, was arrested and released on suspicion of third-degree theft after being accused of taking items from a store without paying for them. 

• At 2:23 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 1300 block of Lum Road for a report of a shoplifter. Kaitlyn M. Bishop, 18, of Tumwater, was arrested and released with a court date on suspicion of third-degree theft. A juvenile she was with is being referred to juvenile court prosecutors on suspicion of third-degree theft. 

 

Credit Cards Stolen, Used at Local Stores

• At 5:34 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report that credit cards were stolen and used at local stores in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

• At 7:04 p.m. on Saturday, police received a second report that credit cards were stolen and used at stores in the same area. 

 

Juvenile Arrested on Malicious Mischief Charge

• At 8:58 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 2000 block of Ahlers Avenue and arrested a juvenile male on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. The juvenile was accused of breaking parents’ property. The boy was booked into Lewis County Juvenile Detention. 

 

Burglary Reported at Motel

• At 11:55 a.m. on Sunday, a burglary to a motel room was reported in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue. 

 

Purse Stolen

• At 2:01 p.m. on Sunday, a purse was reported stolen in the 100 block of West Magnolia Street. 

 

Juvenile Arrested on Drug Charge

• At 8:06 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the intersection of North Pearl and West Sixth streets for a traffic infraction. A juvenile was arrested and booked into Lewis County Juvenile Detention on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs. 

 

Driver Arrested for Illegally Possessing Gun After Traffic Stop

• At 9:33 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the intersection of Pearl Street and West Reynolds Road for a traffic violation. Nicholas L. Gonzalez, 29, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree driving with a suspended license, driving without an ignition interlock device, unlawful possession of a firearm and an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant. 

 

1988 Chevy Astro Van Stolen

• At 4:19 a.m. on Monday, a 1988 Chevrolet Astro Van was reported stolen in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 232 inmates, including 202 in general population, 28 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 168 were male and 34 female and of WERC inmates, 25 were male and three female.
