Sirens: Disorderly Man Reported at Bus Stop, Assault Suspects Booked, Man Booked for Allegedly Threatening to Throw Urine on Someone

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Disorderly Man Reported at Bus Stop

• At 11:37 a.m. Monday, a caller at Chamber of Commerce Way and Louisiana Avenue reported a man at a bus stop drank half a bottle of vodka and was now yelling profanities.

Shoplifting Suspect Runs Away

• At 1:15 p.m. Monday, police were requested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue, where a shoplifting suspect ran from the store, dropping stolen items along the way.

Verbal Threats Reported

• At 1:26 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported two men, both approximately 18 years old, threatened to harm the caller.

Dog Seen Panting in Parked Car

• At 1:37 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported a dog had been left in a parked car for over 20 minutes. The car’s windows were rolled up and the dog was panting, the caller said. 

Theft Suspect Booked

• At 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Alejandra G. Contreras, 21, of Winlock on suspicion of third-degree theft. 

Hit and Run Suspect Referred

• At 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to Louisiana Avenue and Chamber of Commerce Way and referred a 40-year-old Winlock woman to prosecutors on suspicion of hit and run. 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Hit and Run

• At 4:40 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported on Mellen Street. 

Assault Suspects Booked

• At 7:57 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road and arrested Marcus D.B. Cooper, 38, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

• At 9:08 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1800 block of North Pearl Street and arrested Guadalupe L. Gomez-Mendez, 47, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. 

DUI Suspect Booked

• At 11:01 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested George H. Douglas, 72, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Driver Cited for Suspended License

• At 6:01 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1000 block of East E Street and cited a 37-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

Suspect Booked for Suspected Drug Possession

• At 12:14 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street and arrested Shyla M. Winterholler, 37, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of a synthetic drug.

Driver Injured After Striking Parked Car

• At 1:04 p.m. Tuesday, police went to the intersection of Rock and Center streets, where a driver suffered a minor cut to the head after a collision. The driver reported being distracted by a dog in their car, resulting in a wide left turn that went into the back of a legally parked car.

Man Booked for Allegedly Threatening to Throw Urine on Someone

• At 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested David I. Osoraio, 50, a transient, on suspicion of harassment and interfering with a healthcare facility. Osoraio allegedly threatened to throw urine on hospital staff members.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 217 inmates, with 182 in general population, 34 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 145 were men and 37 were women and of WERC inmates, 27 were men and seven were women. A total of 18 inmates were booked through contacts with agencies outside Lewis County.
