Sirens: Death Threat Reported; Man Wields Stick, Attacks Bystanders; ‘Erratic’ Man Reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Charges Dismissed in Hit and Run, DUI

• At 7:37 p.m. Friday, police responded to Pearl and Pine streets and arrested Sara D. Vasquez, 32, of Rochester on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run. Charges against Vasquez were later dismissed.

 

Businesses Report Burglaries

• At 8:49 a.m. Monday, a business in the 100 block of West Walnut Street reported a burglary. A window was damaged, but nothing was reported missing.

• At 12:03 p.m. Monday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 1:56 a.m. Tuesday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue. Nothing was stolen.

• At 1:59 a.m. Tuesday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue. Cigarettes were stolen.

 

Woman Booked for Criminal Trespass, Meth Possession

• At 3:53 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Sharon A. Todd, 43, of Centralia on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass and possession of meth. Todd was allegedly found in an establishment she had previously been trespassed from. She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

 

Bicycle Stolen

• At 4:36 p.m. Monday, a theft of a BMX-style bicycle was reported in the 1200 block of Alder Street.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 4:46 p.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1200 block of Alder Street.

 

Suspect Booked for Allegedly Violating No-Contact Order

• At 6:35 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 500 block of South Rock Street and arrested Fredrick J. Adams, 58, of Centralia on suspicion of violating a domestic violence no-contact order.

 

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 9:58 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 2000 block of Earl Street and arrested Wellington M. Waggener, 30, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Wallet Stolen

• At 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, a theft of a wallet was reported in the 1300 block of Lum Road.

 

Suspect Accused of Stealing From Business Three Times

• At 2:58 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 800 block of West Main Street and arrested Christopher M. Feist, 29, of Centralia on suspicion of second-degree theft with extenuating circumstances. Feist allegedly stole from the same business three times within 180 days.

 

License Plate Stolen, Recovered

• At 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, a theft of a license plate was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. It was later recovered in Tacoma.

 

Man Booked After Becoming ‘Belligerent’ In Hospital

• At 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Michael S. Garrett, 34, a transient, on suspicion of interfering with a health care facility after he allegedly became belligerent in the hospital.

 

Collision Causes Injuries

• At 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, a two-vehicle collision with injuries was reported on Mellen Street. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.

 

Hit and Run

• At 4:17 a.m. Wednesday, a hit and run was reported in the 2300 block of Scheuber Ridge Court. A vehicle struck a mailbox and then drove away.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Couple Seen Yelling, Child Involved

• At 12:31 p.m. Monday, police were alerted to a man and a woman in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue yelling at each other. The caller said it looked like the woman was trying to grab a child out of the man’s arms.

 

Hit and Runs

• At 12:58 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard.

• At 7:09 p.m. Tuesday, a hit and run was reported in the 1500 block of Rice Road. A vehicle struck another vehicle’s mirror and drove away.

 

‘Erratic’ Man Reported

• At 2:25 p.m. Monday, a caller in the 100 block of Southwest Sixth Street reported a man acting erratically. The man was shouting at people and throwing items off of a porch.

 

Death Threat Reported

• At 4:55 p.m. Monday, a caller at a business in the 1200 block of South Market Street said a male subject said he “wanted to kill her.”

 

Fight Reported

• At 5:14 p.m. Monday, a fight between two male subjects was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Man Accused of Disorderly Conduct

• At 7:11 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue and arrested Ronald B. Alger, 36, of Chehalis on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

 

Counterfeit Bill Recovered

• At 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, police were requested in the 300 block of Northwest State Avenue, where a counterfeit bill was recovered.

 

Man Wields Stick, Attacks Bystanders

• At 5:44 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified of a transient man going “after people” while holding a stick. No arrests were reported.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 230 inmates, with 200 in general population, 28 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 174 were men and 26 were women and of WERC inmates, 24 were men and four were women. A total of 41 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
