Sirens: Collision Causes Injury, Gas Siphoned from Tank, Deputies Investigate Burglaries

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Thefts

• At 8:47 a.m. Monday, a theft of a purse was reported in the 500 block of West Third Street.

• At 10:17 a.m. Monday, a theft of a bicycle was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue.

• At 7:21 a.m. Tuesday, a theft of tools was reported in the 900 block of F Street.

• At 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, a theft of cash from a wallet was reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road.

• At 12:52 p.m. Wednesday, a theft of medication was reported in the 600 block of Yew Street.

Suspect Booked for Violating Order

• At 9:41 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 1600 block of South Gold Street and arrested Lance E. Dalton, 36, of Winlock on suspicion of violating a protection order.

Burglary Reported

• At 1:57 p.m. Monday, a burglary was reported in the 700 block of West Plum Street. Someone broke into a residence that was under renovation and stole tools and a stereo system. 

Juvenile Arrested for Theft

• At 5:53 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 200 block of East Oakville Avenue and arrested a juvenile on suspicion of third-degree theft. The juvenile allegedly stole a cellphone.

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 12:18 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of Kulien Avenue and arrested Megan L. Denetclaw, 36, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. 

Theft Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 1:42 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 200 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested and released a 52-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of third-degree theft. The man allegedly stole a pair of sunglasses. 

Collision Causes Injury

• At 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle collision with injuries was reported in the 2800 block of Cooks Hill Road. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.

Suspect Booked for Violating Order

• At 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 500 block of South Rock Street and arrested Frederick J. Adams, 58, of Centralia on suspicion of violating a domestic violence no-contact order. 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Gas Siphoned from Tank

• At 1:54 p.m. Friday, a caller in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported someone siphoned gas from a vehicle sometime over the week.

Hit and Runs

• At 3:14 p.m. Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 800 block of South Market Boulevard.

• At 9:36 p.m. Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

• At 1:15 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 500 block of West Main Street.

• At 7 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Man Seen Beating Dog

• At 1:31 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street reported  a man was kicking and punching a dog. 

Burglary Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 2:26 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested and released a 37-year-old Olympia man on suspicion of second-degree burglary.

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 5:10 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of Southwest 12th Street and arrested Allen Z. Oliver, 49, of Chehalis on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

Counterfeit Bill Reported

• At 5:37 p.m. Monday, police were notified of a fake $100 bill received at a business.

Juvenile Referred for Assault

• At 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street and referred a 17-year-old Chehalis boy to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of custodial assault.

Trespass Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested and released a 55-year-old Montana man on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass after the man allegedly went to property where he had been previously trespassed

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Deputies Investigate Burglaries

• At 5:43 a.m. Monday, a burglary was reported in the 160000 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Packwood. A door was forced open by some sort of tool, and someone made entry on someone else’s property.

• At 8 a.m. Tuesday, a burglary was reported in the 1700 block of Highway 603, Winlock. A business’s window was broken and an office ransacked. Deputies are awaiting a list of stolen property from the business’s owner.

• At 8:54 p.m. Tuesday, a burglary was reported in the 100 block of Mineral Hill Road, Mineral. A door had been kicked in. Deputies are awaiting a list of stolen property from the owner.

 

Bomb Squad Called for Possible Explosive, Device Found to be Harmless

• At 10:14 a.m. Monday, a caller in the 300 block of Minkler Road, Winlock reported finding a possible explosive device on their property. A bomb squad was dispatched, and found that the device did not pose a threat.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 225 inmates, with 194 in general population, 30 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 157 were men and 37 were women and of WERC inmates, 26 were men and four were women. A total of 15 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
