Sirens: Citizen Finds Wig, Clothes and Knife; Deputies Investigate Burglary of Nabbed Guns

Thefts

• At 10:53 a.m. Friday, a theft of $5,000 worth of merchandise was reported from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road.

• At 11:48 a.m. Friday, a theft of $20 was reported in the 1300 block of Alexander Street.

• At 2:15 p.m. Friday, a theft of a tape measure and other tools was reported in the 1900 block of Ahlers Avenue.

• At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2400 block of Borst Park on a report of two suspects in the process of stealing a security camera outside a business.

 

Trespass Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 2:33 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue and arrested and released a 57-year-old Centralia woman on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass.

 

Police Arrest Man on Meth Possession, Warrant

• At 2:57 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 500 block of West Pear Street and arrested Daniel R. Randall, 55, a transient on suspicion of possession of meth and on a felony Department of Corrections warrant.

 

Suspect Cited for Two Collisions, Driving with Suspended License

• At 8:35 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested and released a 41-year-old Rochester man on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The man was also issued an infraction after he caused two vehicle collisions.

 

New Jersey Man Accused of Providing False Name

• At 2:52 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of View Avenue and arrested Matthew S. Mangual, 24, of Garfield, New Jersey on suspicion of criminal impersonation. Mangual allegedly used a false name at a business to fraudulently obtain merchandise.

 

Shoplifting Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 6:04 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue and arrested and released a 22-year-old Chehalis resident on suspicion of shoplifting from a local business.

 

Police Arrest Assault, Mischief Suspect

• At 8:14 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2800 block of Russell Road and arrested James R. Wisner, 33, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence and third-degree malicious mischief.

 

Suspect Referred for Alleged Assault

• At 9:41 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of South Gold Street for a reported assault. The suspect could not be located, but was referred to Centralia Municipal Court on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

Driver Cited and Released for Suspended License

• At 3:15 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 500 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested and released a 33-year-old Chehalis resident on suspicion of third-degree driving with a suspended license.

 

Hit and Run

• At 8:21 p.m. Sunday, a hit and run was reported in the 200 block of South Tower Avenue. Someone struck a parked car and left the scene.

 

Someone Breaks Business’ Window

• At 11:20 p.m. Sunday, police were notified that someone broke a window at a business in the 100 block of North Silver Street.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Burglary

• At 1:02 p.m. Friday, a burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Southwest Snively Avenue. Someone kicked a hole in the wall of a vacant structure to gain entry.

 

Theft

• At 9:32 a.m. Saturday, a theft of cash from a wallet was reported in the 300 block of West Main Street.

 

Caller Reports Assault

• At 12:52 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street reported a woman struck him in the face.

 

Citizen Finds Wig, Clothes and Knife

• At 1 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue told police they found a wig, clothes and a knife in a shed. The caller also said there was evidence of drug use.

 

Caller Reports Imminent Fist Fight

• At 1:24 a.m. Monday, a caller in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth Street said a fist fight was about to break out, but hung up when the dispatcher asked about the caller’s address.

Police Book DUI Suspect

• At 2:16 a.m. Monday, police responded to National Avenue and Coal Creek Road and arrested Hunter D. Kincaid, 24, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Deputies Investigate Burglary of Nabbed Guns

• At 4:32 p.m. Friday, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Independence Road in Lewis County where someone forced entry into a building and stole firearms and tools.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 231 inmates, with 199 in general population, 30 in the work ethic and restitution center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 165 were male and 34 were female and of WERC inmates, 26 were male and four were female. A total of 31 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
