Inmate Allegedly Punches Corrections Deputy in the Face

• At 10:41 p.m. Monday, deputies responded inside the Lewis County Jail where Derrick S. Alefteras, 30, of Chehalis, an inmate, allegedly punched a corrections deputy in the face. Alefteras was booked on suspicion of third-degree assault.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tire Slashed with Knife

• At 10:13 a.m. Monday, police were notified that several days prio someone slashed a tire with a knife in the 1400 block of Lewis Street.

 

Man Allegedly Runs From Police Trying to Serve Warrant

• At 10:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 1400 block of Lewis Street and arrested Andreas S. Santiago, 23, of Chehalis on suspicion of third-degree escape and resisting arrest and on a DOC felony warrant. Santiago allegedly ran away from police when they tried to serve the warrant, but was cornered and arrested.

 Police Arrest Mischief, Assault Suspect

• At 9:24 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 3000 block of Borst Avenue and arrested Corrine C. Jones, 36, of Medford, Oregon on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief and fourth-degree assault — domestic violence.

 

Teen Assaults Grandmother, Sibling

• At 12:17 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2500 block of Sharon Street and arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after allegedly assaulting his grandmother and a sibling.

 

Plants Stolen From Porch

• At 7:50 p.m. Monday, a theft of several plants was reported in the 2400 block of Seward Avenue.

 

Two Men Try to Break In Residence

• At 3:01 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue where a caller advice two men tried to force their way through the front door of a residence. One of the men appeared to be armed, the victim said.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Dump Truck Stolen

• At 9:42 a.m. Monday, a theft of a dump truck was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue.

 

 Trailer Stolen Overnight

• At 9:49 a.m. Monday, a theft of a dump trailer was reported in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Two Windows Broken, Possible Suspect Seen on Video

• At 9:53 a.m. Monday, police were notified that two windows were broken on a business in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. A possible suspect was caught on video.

 

Girl Outside in ‘Unsuitable Clothing’

• At 2:35 p.m. Monday, an anonymous caller in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard reported a girl wearing unsuitable clothing and was “embarrassed by her lack of clothing.”

 

Vehicle Flips Over in Crash, Man Trapped

• At 11:23 a.m. Tuesday, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Chamber Way and Louisiana Avenue after a vehicle was flipped over onto its side, trapping a man inside. The man was extricated and uninjured. 

 

Man Urinates Inside Store

• At 4:32 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue on a call of a man inside a store, urinating in the corner. No arrests were reported.

 

Caller Reports Meth Use in Front of Child

• At 3:29 a.m. Tuesday, police were notified of a couple in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue who, the caller believed, were using meth pipes in the presence of a child who appeared to be around 10 years old.

 

Man Stands in Middle of Road, Yells

• At 9:04 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the 500 block of Northwest Front Street on a call of a man standing in the middle of the road yelling.

 

Go-Cart Stolen

• At 10:43 a.m. Tuesday, a theft of a go-cart was reported in the 600 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue.

 

Zip Ties to Property Cut, Homeless Camp Emerges

• At 1:18 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 1500 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue reported finding severed zip-ties on a fence to private property and an apparent homeless camp being set up on the property.

 

Teens Hits, Kicks Little Sibling

• At 5:26 p.m. Tuesday, a caller on Southwest Pacific Avenue reported that a 14-year-old male was hitting and kicking a younger sibling.

 

Tires Slashed

• At 6:16 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified that in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue, someone had slashed a parked vehicle’s tire.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 225 inmates, with 187 in general population, 35 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 149 were male and 38 were female and of WERC inmates, 31 were male and four were female. A total of 36 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
