Assault Suspects Booked

• At 2:44 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 600 block of West Main Street to a report of an assault. Nicholas A. Mullins, 33, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. He was accused of assaulting a property owner trying to remove him from the property. 

• At 10:29 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of West Pine Street to a report of an assault. Nigel C. Christian, 19, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

 

Beer Stolen

• At 7:23 p.m. on Thursday, a can of beer was reported stolen in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Two Arrested After Disorderly Man Reported

• At 9:04 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a disorderly man on Southwest Chehalis Avenue. Police arrived to find a man with a head injury. The suspect, Maalgeney R. Denetclaw, 42, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. The alleged victim of the assault, identified as Jacob J. Viveiros, 24, of Kelso, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and was referred to prosecutors for a charge of disorderly conduct. 

 

Teen Referred for Assault at Green Hill

• At 10:18 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of an assault occurring on Nov. 22 at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. An inmate was accused of hitting a staff member in the face with his fist. The 17-year-old boy is being referred to prosecutors for a charge of custodial assault.

 

Tools Stolen in Burglary

• At 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue. Hand tools were stolen from a shop. 

 

Disorderly Conduct Reported

• At 1:23 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of disorderly conduct in the 300 block of Northwest State Street. No arrests were made. 

 

Hit and Runs

• At 2:42 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 9:35 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 200 block of Southeast Winchester Hill Drive. A vehicle hit a mailbox and a parked vehicle.

 

Harassment Reported

• At 3:37 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of harassment on Southwest Chehalis Avenue. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Cinebar Woman Seriously Injured in Crash

• At 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to about milepost 11 of Centralia Alpha Road in Chehalis to a report of a single-vehicle crash. They found a 54-year-old Cinebar woman was entrapped in a Ford F-250 truck that left the road and hit trees. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with possible broken legs and internal injuries. The truck was totaled. The crash is under investigation.  

 

Burglar Steals Coins, Wedding Ring

• At 8:53 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the 200 block of Blakely Drive in Toledo to a report of a burglary sometime that day. The victim reported she came home from work to find $800 in coins, five or six silver dollar coins and a wedding band taken. The incident is under investigation.

 

Toledo Man Arrested on DUI Charge

• At 11:10 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the intersection of Blakely Drive and Highway 505 in Toledo to a report of a truck spinning its tires and damaging a driveway. Driver Rodney McAleny, 35, of Toledo, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 194 inmates with 163 in general population, 30 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 123 were male and 40 female and of WERC inmates, 26 were male and four female. A total of 50 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
