Sirens: Baby Formula Stolen, Suspect Flees Scene in Stolen Vehicle; Chromebook Reported Stolen

Scam Reported

• At 3:21 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a scam in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

 

Display Cell Phone Stolen at Store

• At 3:47 p.m. on Monday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The suspect was accused of stealing a display cell phone from a business. No arrest was made. 

 

Disorderly Conduct

• At 9:18 a.m. on Tuesday, a disorderly person was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Sixth Street in Chehalis. A man was reportedly screaming and “being crazy.” No arrests were made. 

 

Chromebook Reported Stolen

• At 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday, a Chromebook was reported stolen from a school in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street. 

 

Witness Reports Intoxicated Man

• At 5:52 p.m. on Tuesday, a person at the intersection of Fifth Street and Cascade Avenue reported a possibly intoxicated man stumbling and walking into people’s yards. 

 

Theft Suspect Cited

• At 6:51 p.m. on Tuesday, a theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Amanda Barnhart, 32, of Onalaska was cited and released on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of taking $72.35 in merchandise.

 

Centralia Police Department

Toy Train Stolen

• At 10:22 a.m. on Tuesday, a toy train was reported stolen in the 200 block of North Tower Avenue. 

 

Hit and Run

• At 2:11 p.m. on Tuesday, a hit and run was reported in the 100 block of Virginia Drive. A parked vehicle was damaged. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue. A vape pen was stolen. 

 

Baby Formula Stolen, Suspect Flees Scene in Stolen Vehicle

• At 3:54 p.m. on Tuesday, a theft of $700 of baby formula from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue was reported. The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. The Washington State Patrol pursued the suspect after locating the vehicle on southbound Interstate 5, but eventually discontinued the pursuit. The case is under investigation. 

 

Juvenile Arrested on Trespass Charge

• At 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Russell Road and arrested a juvenile on suspicion of trespassing. 

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 234 inmates with 196 in general population, 35 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and three on work release. Of general population inmates, 159 were male and 37 were female and of WERC inmates, 30 were male and five female.
