Sirens: Assault Suspect Arrested, Released; Suspect Booked for Allegedly Failing to Obey Officer; Suspect Booked for Alleged Indecent Exposure

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault Suspect Arrested, Released

• At 8:13 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road and arrested and released a 20-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Police Report Finding Meth on Suspect

• At 12:04 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 400 block of Yew Street and arrested Jennifer L. Schroeder, 33, of Chehalis on multiple local misdemeanor warrants. During a search, police reported finding meth on Schroeder.

Windshield Damaged

• At 10:33 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1100 block of G Street reported damage to a vehicle’s windshield.

Hit and Runs

• At 4:32 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 1100 block of Belmont Avenue. A vehicle was struck in a parking lot.

• At 7:55 p.m. Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road. A vehicle was struck in a parking lot. 

Suspect Booked for Alleged Possession of Heroin

• At 7:59 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue and arrested Nathan A. Karl, 35, of Chehalis on suspicion of possession of heroin. 

Drivers Cited for Suspended License

• At 9:02 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1300 block of North Pearl Street and cited a 23-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

• At 6:18 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue and cited a 40-year-old Olympia resident on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

 Suspect Booked for Allegedly Failing to Obey Officer

• At 11:24 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 600 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Marcus J. Inman, 29, of Centralia on suspicion of failing to obey a police officer, driving on a suspended license and on a Centralia Municipal Court warrant.

DUI Suspects Booked

• At 11:56 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 900 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Vitalii Hrytsyuk, 33, of Auburn on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 9:31 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of South Railroad Avenue and arrested Daniel H. Morton, 42, of Centralia on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Theft

• At 12:11 p.m. Sunday, a theft of a bicycle was reported in the 200 block of West Main Street.

Suspect Booked for Alleged Indecent Exposure

• At 3:45 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 600 block of West Main Street and arrested Heidi G. Latimer, 38, of Auburn on suspicion of indecent exposure.

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 7:36 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Blakeslee Junction and arrested Shirley S. Becker, 57, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Robbery Suspect Referred to Prosecutor’s Office

• At 3:01 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A caller said a man attempted to leave a store with stolen merchandise. When he was confronted by loss prevention staff, the man allegedly pulled out an unopened knife and yelled for everyone to “stay back.” The man then allegedly dropped the merchandise, got into a vehicle and left the scene. A suspect is known to police, and a charge of first-degree robbery is being referred for prosecution.

Man Seen Looking Through Vehicles, Trash

• At 6:34 p.m. Friday, a possible attempted vehicle prowl was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A man was seen looking into vehicles and rummaging through nearby garbage. He left when he spotted the caller. 

Juvenile Accused of Assault

• At 8:31 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 300 block of Southwest Third Street and arrested a 17-year-old Chehalis girl on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. 

Woman Heard Threatening STP Riders

• At 11:36 a.m. Saturday, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street reported hearing a woman in a bathroom making threats against Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic riders.

Suspect Throws People’s Belongings Into River, Makes Threats

• At 3:05 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1500 block of Rice Road, where a caller reported a person threw items belonging to the caller and a friend into the river, and then made threats to beat them up. 

Man Chases Woman Around Parking Lot

• At 9:03 p.m. Saturday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported seeing a man chase and yell at a woman in a parking lot. Eventually, the two were seen in separate places.

Suspect Throws Furniture off Balcony

• At 10:51 p.m. Saturday, police were requested in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue where a woman was throwing furniture off a balcony.

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 8:30 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 300 block of Main Street in Onalaska and arrested Christine M. Irby, 52, of Chehalis on suspicion of fourth-degree assault — domestic violence. 

Vehicle Damages Power Pole

• At 5:19 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to Jackson Highway and Torrey Lane, where a vehicle went off the road and struck a power pole. The pole was broken and the driver suffered minor injuries.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 240 inmates, with 211 in general population, 28 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and one on work release. Of general population inmates, 172 were men and 39 were women and of WERC inmates, 24 were men and four were women. A total of 27 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
