Sirens: Assault on School Bus Reported; Fishing Equipment Taken From Back Porch; Drivers Arrested on DUI Charges

Assault on School Bus Reported

• At 3:01 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a fourth-degree assault between two students on a school bus in the 400 block of West Summa Street. The case is under investigation. 

 

Check Fraud

• At 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of check fraud in the 2400 block of Leisure Lane. 

 

Protection Order Violation

• At 4:42 p.m. on Tuesday, police arrested Kevin G. Blosser, 35, on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 1400 block of West Main Street. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1400 block of Lum Road. 

 

Licence Plate Stolen

• At 8:56 p.m. on Tuesday, a person in the 100 block of South Railroad Avenue reported that someone took the rear license plate off their car and replaced it with a different one. 

Fishing Equipment Taken From Back Porch

• At 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a burglary in the 800 block of Euclid Way. A fishing pole, tackle box and two packs of cigarettes were reportedly stolen from a fenced-in back porch overnight. The case is under investigation. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Thefts

• At 12:21 p.m. on Monday, a theft was reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 9:07 a.m. on Tuesday, a wallet was reported stolen in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At noon on Tuesday, police received a report of a theft of cellphone cases in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made. 

• At 1:21 p.m. on Tuesday, a cell phone was reported stolen in the 700 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. 

 

Man Arrested on Drug Charge, Warrants After Found Sleeping in Car

• At 8:26 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a suspicious person sleeping in a car in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard. Police arrived and arrested Peter J. Herman, 33, of Chehalis, on outstanding warrants. A search incident to his arrest revealed methamphetamine, and he was also booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, according to the police department. 

 

Graffiti Reported

• At 9:53 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of graffiti sprayed on a fence in the 600 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue. 

 

Swarm of Bees

• At 3:05 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a swarm of bees in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard. Officers contacted a beekeeper, according to the police department. 

 

Fight Reported

• At 12:08 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of two men fighting in the street in the 700 block of Southwest First Street. One man reportedly had a bat. No arrests were made.

 

License Plate Stolen

• At 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a stolen license plate in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Man Booked for Meth Possession

• William G. Carter, 31, of Monroe was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue. 

 

Teen Booked on Assault Charge

• A 15-year-old Chehalis boy was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic-violence in the 700 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Drivers Arrested on DUI Charges

• At 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Jackson Highway and Logan Hill Road south of Chehalis. The driver who reportedly caused the accident, Chrystall Lee Graham, 36, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after the crash. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Graham was driving south in a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe on Jackson Highway and took a left turn onto Logan Hill Road, into the path of a second vehicle driving northbound, a 2001 Acura Integra driven by a 22-year-old man. The man was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with back and leg pain. Graham was not injured. 

• At 9 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies arrested Nathaniel M. Bryce, 27, of Centralia, on suspicion of DUI, reckless endangerment and third-degree driving with a suspended license. Deputies responded to the intersection of Big Hanaford Road and Tono Road in Centralia to find an unoccupied vehicle partially blocking the road. Bystanders reported a man was walking away from the vehicle with a child. Deputies caught up to the driver, identified as Bryce, who was reportedly stumbling while carrying his 4-year-old stepchild, and arrested him. 

 

Pills Stolen in Centralia Burglary

• The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential burglary between Friday and Monday in the 3100 block of Ives Road. According to the alleged victim, a 50-year-old Centralia woman, 104 Oxycodone pills were stolen while she was away.
