Alleged Burglar Returns to Crime Scene

• A Centralia man was arrested after he allegedly stole a GPS unit from Walmart in Chehalis and then went back to the store and tried to return it for a gift card. Brett A. Warness, 25, allegedly fled on foot and then in a vehicle  after he was confronted at 6 p.m. Thursday. Officers pulled Warness over in a parking lot north of Walmart. He was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary, a drug violation and an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant. 

Man Leaves Without Paying for Alignment

• Brice N. Kragness, 30, of Rochester, allegedly left without paying for a vehicle alignment from a business in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard in Chehalis at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday. The service was valued at $56.25. A third-degree theft citation was issued.

 

Centralia Police Department

Looking for Free Meal

• Officers arrested and booked Shannon K. Kilgore, 46, of Centralia, after she allegedly ordered four meals at a restaurant and did not pay for them. The third-degree theft occurred in the 200 block of South Pearl Street in Centralia at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday.

Unlawful Firearm Possession

• Bradley M. Pedersen, 39, of Centralia, was arrested for possessing a firearm as a felon at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Ash Street in Centralia at 8:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Man Hurts Nurse

• Officers arrested Travis D. Compton, 24, of Chehalis, after he allegedly assaulted an emergency room nurse at Providence Centralia Hospital at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Domestic Violence

• Darrin L. Miles, 42, of Chehalis, was arrested and booked for third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence in the 400 block of North Buckner Street in Centralia at 2:57 p.m. Thursday.
