Sirens: Aggressive Panhandlers Make Crude Comments; Juvenile Threatens to Jump Off Bridge

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Collides with Building

• At 9:19 a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Kresky Avenue after a vehicle hit a building. No injuries were reported.

 

Burglary Reported

• At 1:50 p.m. Monday, a burglary was reported at a residence in the 1600 block of Johnson Road. The caller reported food and other unspecified items were missing.

 

Hit and Run in Parking Lot

• At 3:59 p.m. Monday, a hit and run was reported in a parking lot in the 1300 block of Johnson Road.

 

Woman Arrested for Alleged Threat to Kill

• At 9:34 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of harassment in the 2400 block of Borst Avenue. Sasha T. Brewer, 40, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of harassment after allegedly going to her ex-husband’s place of work, making threats to kill him and assaulting a coworker.

 

Cell Phone Stolen from Vehicle

• At 2:38 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 800 block of West Main Street. A phone was stolen. The victim reportedly confronted the thief, who gave the phone’s SIM card back but kept the phone.

 

Thefts Reported

• At 3:17 p.m. on Tuesday, two women were reported shoplifting clothing items in the 100 block of West High Street. 

• At 3:34 p.m. on Tuesday, a wallet was reported stolen from a store in the 100 block of West High Street. 

Onalaska Man Booked on Drug Charge After Traffic Stop

• At 6:19 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 200 block of South Silver Street and arrested  Bradley W. Bell, 37, of Onalaska, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop. 

 

Assaults Reported

• At 6:19 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1200 block of Marion Street. Michael N. Dynes, 25, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

• At 7:38 p.m. on Tuesday, a fourth-degree assault was reported on Rock Street in Centralia. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 8:19 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. Prescription medication was stolen. 

 

Man Arrested for Alleged Assault on Security Guards

• At 11:11 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Ronald J. Gleason, 41, of Chehalis, on suspicion of third-degree assault. He was accused of assaulting security guards. 

 

Centralia Man Booked on No-Contact Order Violation

• At 4:19 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 900 block of Ham Hill Road and arrested Tony A. Watson, 60, of Centralia, on suspicion of a violation of a domestic violence no-contact order.

Man Lifts Up Shirt, Sings in Front of Church

• At 9:08 a.m. Monday, police were notified of a man in the 600 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue, outside a church singing, and later lifting his shirt up and “acting weird.”

 

Female Juvenile Jumps Out of Vehicle, Refuses to Get Back In

• At 11:02 a.m. Monday, police were notified of a disturbance in the 2100 block of North National Avenue, where a female juvenile jumped out of a parent’s vehicle and wouldn’t get back in.

 

Male Lays Down on Sidewalk in Fetal Position

• At 12:12 p.m. Monday, police received a report from the 1100 block of South Market Street of a male laying down on the sidewalk in the fetal position.

 

Person Uses Wrong Name While Receiving Ticket

• At 4:37 p.m. Monday, police received a report from the 400 block of Southwest Williams Street from a caller indicating a family member had used her name while receiving a ticket from Washington State Patrol.

 

Resident Shoots Bow and Arrow at Plastic Deer

• At 5:02 p.m. Monday, a person in the 600 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue reported that their neighbor had a fake deer set up in the lawn and was shooting a bow and arrow at it. The caller had safety concerns.

 

Man Found on Caller’s Property

• At 5:06 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Southwest William Avenue, after a caller said they came home to find a man with a bunch of bags on their property. The caller was worried the bags might be used in the commission of a theft.

 

Aggressive Panhandlers Make Crude Comments

• At 7:46 p.m. Monday, a group of four panhandlers were reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The caller said they were harassing people in the area, making aggressive and crude comments.

 

Loud Argument in House Ends in Screams

•At 3:57 a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue after a caller said they had heard an argument coming from a nearby house and a “loud boom” and then screaming. A truck left the area, with screaming coming from the truck.

 Attempted Burglary Reported

• At 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to an attempted burglary in the 200 block of South Market Boulevard.

 

Man Makes Inappropriate Comments to Office Workers

• At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police received a complaint about a male making sexual comments to office workers in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way.

 

Juvenile Threatens to Jump off Bridge

• At 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Rice Road, where a female juvenile was threatening to jump off a bridge and to hit another person with a  stick.

 

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

 

Deputies Locate Man Stranded After ATV Breakdown

• At 9:24 a.m. Monday, deputies searched the area of Forest Service Road 73 for a 50-year-old man from Federal Way. Deputies located the man, who said he had been walking since 8 p.m. the day prior after his all-terrain vehicle broke down.

 

Chehalis Man Missing

• At 12:15 p.m. Monday, deputies received a report from the 200 block of Twin Oaks Road from a woman saying her 26-year-old son was missing. Family members advised the man has some cognitive disabilities and they had seen him one week prior. He had taken a truck, and was believed to be going to see his father in California. However, he had not arrived and his cellphone was located on a bench in the Portland area.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 229 inmates, with 190 in general population and 38 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 155 were male and 35 were female and of WERC inmates, 34 were male and four were female. A total of 44 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
