Sheriff’s Office Investigates Suspected Arson in Toledo

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of a suspicious fire Saturday in Toledo that destroyed a garage full of restaurant equipment.

The fire was reported at midnight Saturday in the 100 block of Foster Creek Road in Toledo. Deputies responded at 12:54 a.m. as firefighters were still working to extinguish the fire.

The garage and contents were a total loss, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fire crews advised deputies the fire was suspicious, as the garage had no electricity.

A male subject in a hoodie sweatshirt was seen in the area shortly before the structure caught fire, according to the sheriff’s office.
