An unidentified semi truck driver reportedly died Friday night after crashing on U.S. Highway 12 10 miles east of Packwood, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 7:28 p.m. Friday at milepost 141 of the highway.
The driver has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
According to the state patrol, the red 2000 Freightliner truck attempted to take the runaway truck ramp. The truck left the road and hit several trees.
The cause of the crash is listed as mechanical failure.
