A Castle Rock man allegedly threatened to kill a woman by blowing up her trailer with her inside, then lunged at a Castle Rock police officer with a 20-pound propane tank after receiving complaints that his dog was bothering people, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office.

Castle Rock police responded first to reports that two brothers were threatening another tenant at Paradise Resort and RV Park in Castle Rock. The reporting party said that Jonathan Coon, 35, had threatened her life by saying he would blow up her trailer with her inside.

The incident supposedly started over concerns from tenants that Coon was letting his dog run loose in the RV park.

"Apparently this all started over a dog that belonged to Mr. Coon, and a dispute about the dog ... walking around the park and bothering tenants, which is in violation of the park rules," Cowlitz County Sheriff's sergeant Charlie Rosenzweig said. "This resulted in Mr. Coon telling the (911 caller) that he was going to blow her trailer up."

Sheriff's deputies were not immediately available in the area, so Castle Rock police officer Bill Zimmerman responded first. Coon was visibly drunk and refusing to comply with Zimmerman's commands, Rosenzweig said. When Zimmerman approached him, Coon picked up a 20-pound propane tank and raised it up threateningly.

"You're not taking me to jail," Coon then told Zimmerman, according to Rosenzweig. He then allegedly lunged at Zimmerman with the propane tank, prompting Zimmerman to request backup.

A fight ensued, Rosenzweig said, involving other residents who came to Zimmerman's aid and to help restrain Coon. Coon received some injuries during the struggle and was treated at St. John Medical Center prior to being booked at the Cowlitz County Jail on suspicion of third-degree assault, felony harassment, obstructing a public servant and resisting arrest.
