A police chase that began on Interstate 5 in Centralia Thursday night ended in a crash in Thurston County. The driver then escaped on foot.
At 11:11 p.m. on Thursday, a Centralia police officer reported finding an occupied vehicle that was listed as stolen at about milepost 81 of northbound Interstate 5.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver reportedly fled northbound, crashing in Thurston County.
A female passenger was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The driver, who has been identified by police, reportedly ran away on foot and escaped arrest. The case is under investigation.
