Pedestrian Killed by Amtrak Train in Napavine

A man was killed late Thursday afternoon after attempting to cross train tracks in Napavine in front of an oncoming Amtrak train, according to a news release from the Napavine Police Department. 

Napavine officers responded at 4:30 p.m. Thursday to the Washington Street intersection with the train tracks and found the train stopped and a deceased male subject. 

“The initial information is that the railroad crossing arms were down and the crossing lights were on,” according to a news release from the police department. “A southbound Amtrak train was approaching when two adult male individuals attempted to cross the tracks.”

The first man made it across. The second was hit by the train. 

The deceased man has not yet been identified. The incident is under investigation by the Napavine Police Department.
