One Killed, Three Injured in Crash North of Kelso

A Castle Rock resident was killed after a three-vehicle crash Saturday night two miles north of Kelso on southbound Interstate 5, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident was reported at 8:14 p.m. Saturday at milepost 42 of southbound I-5. Three vehicles were heading southbound when one, a black 2017 Chevrolet Camaro, passed a silver 2011 Subaru Legacy “at a high rate” of speed, according to the state patrol. 

The Camaro hit a white 1997 Ford F-350 truck, which left the road and rolled several times. 

The driver of the Camaro, identified as a 21-year-old Seattle man, and the driver of the Subaru, identified as a juvenile, were not injured. Passengers of the Subaru were also not injured.

The driver of the Ford Truck, a 21-year-old Castle Rock man, was injured and transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center. 

Two passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Castle Rock, were also injured and transported to the same hospital. 

A third passenger of the Ford, identified as Bailey A. Dixon, 21, of Castle Rock, was killed. 

The cause of the crash and possible charges are under investigation.
