Naughty Nurses Accused of Romancing Patients at Western State Hospital

The state Department of Health recently released a set of health care professionals who were sanctioned with official actions in April and May. In Western Washington, actions were taken toward health care workers in Lewis, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Clark and Pierce counties.

This is a sampling of the complete list provided by the Department of Health:

 

Pierce County

Darcy Kristen Dillard, a licensed practical nurse, was charged with unprofessional conduct by the Nursing Commission. According to those charges Dillard entered into a relationship with a patient while she worked at Western State Hospital. The relationship is alleged to have taken place both while the patient was in the hospital and in jail.

Lonnie Rogers III, a registered nursing assistant, was charged with unprofessional conduct by the Nursing Assistant Program. Charges allege that Rogers engaged in a romantic relationship with a patient at Western State Hospital, The charges also state that Rogers asked to borrow money from the patient.

David V. Pruett, a pharmacist, had his credential suspended indefinitely by the Pharmacy Commission after he was found to have diverted thousands of tablets containing oxycodone and other controlled substances. Pruett admitted to selling the drugs for cash, drugs, and prostitutes. In January of this year Pruett tested positive for opiates, benzodiazepines, marijuana, and buprenorphine.

Tadarwin Y. Hardy, a certified nursing assistant, had his credential suspended indefinitely by the Nursing Assistant Program. Hardy was convicted of reckless driving in 2011 and then convicted of driving under the influence in 2014. In 2017 he was again convicted of reckless driving, this time with an added charge of driving under the influence. Hardy failed to report the convictions to the Department of Health.

Nikeya Kirby, a certified nursing assistant, was stripped of her credential by the Nursing Assistant Program. Late last year Kirby tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
