A Mossyrock man was injured in a hit and run collision Tuesday on U.S. Highway 12, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident was reported at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Larson Road one mile east of Mossyrock.

According to the state patrol, a white pickup truck with Idaho license plates was driving behind a 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck driven by a 65-year-old Mossyrock man. The unidentified truck reportedly “conducted an unsafe pass” and forced the Toyota off the road to avoid a collision with oncoming traffic, according to a news release from the state patrol.

The Toyota traveled about 100 feet before striking the ditch and stopping in a field. The driver was injured and transported to a hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the white truck has not yet been identified.
