TACOMA (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 29-year-old man with murder in a fatal shooting at a Tacoma convenience store.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said Wednesday in a news release that Robert Deshawn Grott fired 46 rounds outside an AM/PM convenience store Monday afternoon, killing Julian Jemar Thomas as he sat in a car.

Lindquist says 23-year-old Thomas was struck more than 10 times.

Grott allegedly fled on a skateboard.

A first-degree murder charge was filed against him Wednesday. Prosecutors also filed charges against Grott’s younger brother, Rashaad Dominique Grott, for allegedly rendering criminal assistance by driving his brother to California after the killing.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Heather Songer said neither had been taken into custody.
