A Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputy is on leave pending an internal investigation following her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was driving north on Interstate 5 in Thurston County in their personal vehicle when they were stopped for a traffic violation by a Washington State Patrol trooper and arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Thurston County District Court records show Sage Albright, 29, of Chehalis, was charged with DUI on Nov. 12, the first business day after the incident.

Albright has been a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office since 2017 and before that was a corrections deputy in the Lewis County jail.

She was released on her personal recognizance pending her next court date of Jan. 9, 2020.
