Level 3 Sex Offender Moves to Lewis County

A level 3 sex offender recently moved back to Lewis County, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The man, Zachariah G. Tooley, 38, of Onalaska is not currently wanted by the sheriff’s office, however his classification as a level 3 offender warranted public notification, according to a press release.

Tooley, who recently moved to the 200 block of Kennedy Road in Onalaska, was in 2004 found guilty in Josephine County Circuit Court in Oregon of third-degree rape. The conviction stems from Tooley having sexual contact with a known 13-year-old female when he was 23 years old.

In 2013, Tooley was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender.

In 2014, Tooley was convicted of attempted third-degree rape in Lewis County for an incident that happened in 2011.

“Because of Tooley’s crimes, he has been classified as a high risk to re-offend,” states the press release, which elsewhere reads: “This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.”

Tooley is described as a white male, standing 5-feet, 8-inches, weighing 170 pounds and with brown hair and blue eyes.
