Law Enforcement Groups to Host First Responder’s Day at Southwest Washington Fair

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and other local emergency response organizations have planned a First Responder’s Day for Aug. 16 at the Southwest Washington Fair.

The fair gates open at 10 a.m., and a first-responder demonstration is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is designed to give citizens an opportunity to interact with first responders in Lewis County.

The demonstration will take place near the Saloon Stage and will include booths, displays, vehicles and interactive demonstrations. Among the offerings will be a firearms simulator, fire-extinguisher simulator, CPR flash mob, Sparky the Fire Dog, water pump drill and more. 

The event also includes demonstrations of search and rescue and patrol K9s.

Agencies including the Centralia, Chehalis, Napavine, Toledo, Morton, and Pe Ell police departments, Washington State Patrol, Lewis County Dispatch, Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office, Fish & Wildlife, Lewis County Juvenile, American Red Cross – Lewis County Chapter, Lewis County Crime Stoppers, Search and Rescue – Cascade Dogs, all Lewis County fire districts, Lewis County Chaplains and the Lewis County Coroner’s Office have been invited to participate.
