Coroner Rules Death of Centralia Woman a Drowning

The Lewis County Coroner’s Office concluded a 28-year-old Centralia woman whose body was found in the Skookumchuck River Oct. 21 died from asphyxia secondary to fresh water drowning.

The manner of the death remains undetermined, according to a press release from Coroner Warren McLeod distributed Thursday.

Kimberly A. Gotcher’s body was found the afternoon of Oct. 21 near Schaefer Park. Gotcher was most recently living under a bridge near where her body was found, said Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Chief Dusty Breen.
