Chehalis Police: Motorist Says He Was Stabbed After Picking Up Hitchhiker

A man reported he was stabbed by a hitchhiker he picked up Friday evening, according to the Chehalis Police Department. The Washington State Patrol also responded. 

Below is the full press release from the Chehalis Police Department:

“On January 17th at 19:00 Chehalis Police and the Washington State Patrol were dispatched to a one vehicle collision on Chamber Way near the northbound on-ramp.  The driver of the vehicle stated he had picked up a hitch hiker in the area of Walmart, and was subsequently stabbed by the rider.  The victim was taken by ambulance to the Chehalis Airport for Lifeflight.  His condition is currently unknown.  The only description given on the suspect was a white male with short blonde hair.  The suspect has not been located or identified at the time of this release.  More information may be released as we receive it but the investigation is ongoing at this time.  Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Chehalis Police Department through dispatch at 360-740-1105.”
