Chehalis Driver Not Injured in Crash Near Elma

A Chehalis driver was not injured after a second driver caused a collision on U.S. Highway 12 five miles west of Elma Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported at 1:31 p.m. Thursday. According to a report from the Washington State Patrol, a 45 year old resident of Allyn was. heading eastbound in a green 1995 Toyota Camry when he changed lanes to pass another vehicle, cutting off a 2012 Kenworth construction truck, which rear-ended the smaller car.

The driver of the Kenworth truck, identified as a 40-year-old man from Chehalis, was not injured.

The driver of the Toyota was cited for failing to yield and was transported to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the incident.
