Centralia Woman’s Death Ruled a Homicide

The death of a Centralia woman — whose remains were found south of Chehalis in February — was ruled a homicide by means of homicidal violence, said Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod.

The remains of 44-year-old Trina L. Landry had been sent to the King County Medical Examiner’s office after their discovery. McLeod said that was where the death was determined to be a homicide.

In an earlier interview with The Chronicle, Chief Dusty Breen with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said the autopsy was to take place in King County because of the remains’ level of decomposition. Authorities have yet to release in what condition the remains were found. Breen did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday afternoon.

Landry was found Feb. 3 in the 1900 block of Centralia Alpha Road by a person looking for recyclable material.
