Centralia Transient Charged With Robbery in Alleged Assault, Theft of Wallet, DVD player

A Centralia transient was arrested this week after allegedly pushing another man and stealing his wallet and other possessions.

Jason A. Landry, 40, a transient, was charged Friday in Lewis County Superior Court with second-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

Landry was granted $25,000 bail at his first hearing. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 18.

Landry was originally scheduled to be charged on Thursday but his hearing was delayed.

According to court documents, at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of West Main Street in Centralia for a report of a robbery.

A man reported Landry pushed him and stole his cellphone, wallet and DVD player.

Police contacted Landry in the 1100 block of South Tower Avenue and found him with the stolen possessions.

However, Landry denied that he stole the items.

Police reported finding methamphetamine in Landry’s possession during his arrest.
