Centralia High School, Centralia Middle School, Fords Prairie Elementary School, Futurus High School and the school district office were all placed on lockout, Tuesday afternoon after a suspect attempted to run from officers from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, Centralia Police Chief Carl Nielsen said.
The Centralia School District reported the lockout just before 2 p.m. today and it lasted about 20 minutes.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was in custody as of 2:40 p.m., Nielsen said.
The suspect alleged rammed two cars with his vehicle then attempted to elude JNET officers on foot.
“Students are safe in classroom areas,” a Facebook post from the district read. “There is no threat directed at the schools.”
