JNET Suspect Running From Police Leads to Lockout at Area Schools

Centralia High School, Centralia Middle School, Fords Prairie Elementary School, Futurus High School and the school district office were all placed on lockout, Tuesday afternoon after a suspect attempted to run from officers from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, Centralia Police Chief Carl Nielsen said.

The Centralia School District reported the lockout just before 2 p.m. today and it lasted about 20 minutes.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was in custody as of 2:40 p.m., Nielsen said.

The suspect alleged rammed two cars with his vehicle then attempted to elude JNET officers on foot.

“Students are safe in classroom areas,” a Facebook post from the district read. “There is no threat directed at the schools.”
