Centralia Police Deck Out School Resource Officer’s Car in Tiger Stripes

When the Centralia Police Department sent out two police cars for new paint recently, one came back with an unusual color scheme.

Centralia School Resource Officer Wayne Compton received the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria this week. The vehicle was painted with Centralia High School Tiger stripes and paw prints on the trunk and rear fenders.

Compton said he wasn’t expecting the creative paint job.

“It’s a sharp looking car,” he said.

The police department recently had two all-black Crown Victorias repainted to give them a black and white color-scheme. Only Compton’s got the added tiger stripes.

He said he’s received a lot of compliments during the car’s first few days on campus.

“The kids like it,” he said. “I think it has a cool factor.”

Compton has been assigned as Centralia’s school resource officer since the 2007-2008 school year.
