Centralia Man Registers as Level 3 Sex Offender

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office recently released information on a Centralia man registered as a level 3 sex offender.

Steven R. Hooper, 32, resides in the 400 block of Plum Street, Centralia. He is not wanted by the LCSO, a press release notes, however, prior convictions and circumstances surrounding them requires public notification, according to a press release.

In 2010, Hooper was convicted in Lewis County Superior Court of two counts of second-degree child molestation and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

The convictions stem from Hooper, 23 at the time, establishing a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

In 2000, Hooper was convicted in Clatsop County Circuit Court in Oregon of first-degree sexual abuse, after he, at 13 years old, sexually assaulted a 43-year-old female relative while she slept.

Hooper is described as a white man, standing 5 feet, 10 inches, weighing 260 pounds and with brown hair and blue eyes.
