Centralia Man Hurt in I-5 Motorcycle Crash Involving Alcohol

A Centralia man was injured Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle struck the back of a pickup truck while driving northbound on Interstate 5.

The motorcycle’s driver, Tom A. Reeves, 48, was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to the Washington State Patrol.

According to the state patrol’s press release, at 3:59 p.m. Sunday, Reeves was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson FXD motorcycle down northbound I-5 near milepost 80 at a high rate of speed. He was weaving in and out of traffic, the release reads.

He then struck the back of a Ford F-150 driven by a 52-year-old Chehalis man, as the truck was slowing down for traffic.

Reeves was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for injuries. The truck’s driver was not hurt.

Alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, according to the state patrol, and the crash was caused by high speeds and unsafe lane travel.
