A Centralia man was charged with third-degree rape after authorities said a woman accused him of trying to have sex with her against her will.

Miguel A. Medina Sanchez, 27, was arrested Tuesday morning on a warrant for the alleged offense. He’s being held in the Lewis County Jail on $10,000 bail.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged victim reported to police that on July 22, 2018, she and Medina Sanchez fell asleep. She said she awoke with him attempting to have sex with her against her will.

Documents allege she told him to stop several times, and that Medina Sanchez only stopped when an alarm went off, waking up someone else inside the residence.

Documents indicate that Medina Sanchez allegedly texted the victim later, apologizing and acknowledging that she said no multiple times.

During a hearing in Lewis County Superior Court Wednesday afternoon, Judge Andrew Toynbee imposed $10,000 bail in tune with a request from Deputy Prosecutor Alysha Chandra, along with a sexual assault no-contact order.

He has an arraignment hearing on June 27.
