Police and fire crews responded Saturday morning to a possible burglary and a small fire in a shed building in the 700 block of North National Avenue in Chehalis.
The incident was reported as a burglary at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
Chehalis Fire Chief Ken Cardinale told the Chronicle a police officer saw smoke coming from the building. Fire crews discovered a small mattress was on fire and extinguished it.
Cardinale said the fire was likely accidental and caused by people camping in the building.
