A Vader couple that pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the November death of a Vader toddler will be sentenced in August.

Danny Wing’s sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and Brenda Wing will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21.

The Wings were originally charged with homicide by abuse in the death of 3-year-old Jasper Henderling Warner, a child they had legal custody of. Danny Wing, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and third-degree assault of a child. Brenda Wing, 27, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, third-degree assault of a child, two counts of possession of heroin and two counts of witness tampering.

Both accepted plea agreements. Brenda Wing faces a standard sentencing range of 12 to 16 years. Danny Wing likely faces a shorter sentence, as his plea agreement came before his wife’s and included fewer charges.

According to court documents, Jasper had injuries including abrasions, bruises, healing fractures and missing teeth.
