Trials for Couple Accused of Killing Vader Boy Scheduled for May

The couple charged in the death of a 3-year-old Vader boy waived their rights to a speedy trial Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court.

At a Thursday court hearing, Superior Court Judge Nelson E. Hunt scheduled trials for Danny Wing, 26, and his wife, 27-year-old Brenda Wing, for the week of May 11. The trials have not been joined at this time.

The couple pleaded not guilty in December 2014 to homicide by abuse, or the alternative charge of first-degree manslaughter, for the October 2014 death of Jasper Henderling-Warner. The Wings were caring for Jasper at the time of his death.

While Brenda Wing’s Seattle-based defense attorney, John Crowley, has signed off to release Jasper’s remains, Danny Wing’s attorney, Todd Pascoe, has not.
