Attempted Burglary

• Police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred to the Cowlitz Food and Fuel Shell gas station on the 100 block of Mulford Road in Toledo shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday. Surveillance video shows two men, one of whom was blue jeans and a puffy jacket, trying to smash the door window. The door was shatterproof so the men were unable to enter the store.

 

Motorcycle Crash

• A 58-year-old Yakima man sustained minor injuries after he crashed his 2000 Harley Davidson at about 2 p.m. Saturday near milepost 14 on Skate Creek Road South in Packwood. The man was traveling southbound at about 40 mph when he hit a bumpy patch in the road, lost control and went off the road. The motorcycle and the driver went about 100 feet down a steep embankment. Witnesses to the crash told deputies he was not driving erratically. He was not cited.

 

Vacation Home Burglaries

• A vacation home off of milepost 4 on Skate Creek Road in Ashford was burglarized sometime in the past month. About $550 worth of items were stolen including several coats, flashlights and a folding table.

• Several food times, drills and a DVD player, valued at $300, were stolen from a vacation home on the 100 block of Vanhoesen Road in Onalaska sometime on Sunday during a burglary.

 

Burglary

• A .32-caliber Ruger semiautomatic handgun and an Android tablet were reportedly  stolen from a house on the 100 block of Cedar Lane in Glenoma sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. The burglary is still under investigation.

 

Crash

• A 23-year-old Centralia woman was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday after she fell asleep while driving and went off the road on the 600 block of West Reynolds Avenue outside of Centralia. Her vehicle went down and back up a ditch then hit a shrub and a delivery truck. She sustained a possible broken eye socket and cuts and scrapes to her hand. She was cited for driving with a suspended license and wheels off the roadway.

 

Stolen ATV

• An ATV was stolen from the 200 block of Burchett Road on Saturday. The total loss is $1,800.

 

Burglary

• About $4,000 worth of items were taken during a burglary on the 100 block of Blanchard Road. Deputies were dispatched July 23 at 3:35 p.m. to a report of a woman who said she believed someone was in her home. Deputies searched and found no one, and a police dog picked up a scent but lost it in the brush behind the property. Deputies believe the suspects, who got away with a Colt .357 handgun, an iPad, jewelry, Seattle Mariners signed baseballs and other miscellaneous items, may have escaped on an all-terrain vehicle.

 

DUI

• Joshua G. Wrzesinski, 32, of Castle Rock, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Saturday for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 700 block of C Street in Vader.

 

Violating a No-Contact Order

• Andrew K. Wheeler, 30, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail after deputies found him on the 1100 block of state Route 506 in Vader walking along the BNSF railroad tracks with his girlfriend, a 28-year-old woman who had a no-contact order against him. Deputies said Wheeler lied about who he was, and was eventually arrested on suspicion of violation of a no-contact order, criminal trespassing, making false statements and driving with a suspended license.

 

 

Centralia Police Department

Hit and Run

• Police took a report at 11 a.m. Monday of a hit and run crash on the 1300 block of Lum Road that occurred sometime on Sunday.

 

Obstruction

• Sean D. Cheever, 22, Centralia, was cited and released for allegedly obstructing a public servant on the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Monday.

 

Resisting Arrest

• Aaron J. Trent, 31, Centralia, was arrested and booked into jail for suspicion of resisting arrest as well as for a felony warrant after he allegedly attempted to run from the police on King and Plum streets shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

• Francisco T. Lamas, 28, Centralia, was also arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and resisting arrest after he fled from police at about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday on Fourth and B Street. He was located hiding in a bush a short distance away.

 

Replaced Meter

• Police are currently investigating a stolen electricity meter after a power company went to a residence that had its power previously shut off on the 200 block of Tilley Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and found a new meter, which had been reported stolen from a different location.

 

Burglary

• A man let himself into a home in the 200 block of Tilley Avenue at 9:37 p.m. Saturday night and demanded to know where his runaway daughter was. According to police, residents of the home told Aaron K. Shelton, 38, of Centralia, that the girl was not there. Shelton then told them he would hurt them “if they tried to stand in his way of looking for her,” then refused to leave, police said. Shelton was arrested and booked for suspected second-degree burglary.

• Daniel J. Phillips, 26, of Kelso, was arrested and booked for second-degree burglary after he was found at an abandoned residence in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at 10:57 p.m. Saturday. Police said they found Phillips with numerous items from the home that he told them he took.

 

Criminal Trespass

• Keith A. Smith, 51, transient, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at 10:54 Sunday morning for suspicion of criminal trespass on the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road.

 

Collision

• A motorcycle and vehicle collided at the intersection of Sixth and Pearl streets at 3:08 p.m. Saturday. The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital where he was treated and released.

 

Obstructing a Public Servant

• Robert L. Huey, 25, was arrested and booked for suspected obstruction of a public servant after an incident in the 300 block of N Street at 9:11 p.m. Saturday.

 

Vandalism

• A window was reportedly broken on a vehicle in the 300 block of West Plum Street at 2:15 Sunday morning.

 

Chehalis Police Department

Theft

• An adult female was arrested for suspected theft in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:23 Sunday evening.

• The theft of a purse from a shopping cart was reported in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:01 p.m. Saturday.

• Two people were taken into custody in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:42 p.m. Saturday for suspicion of theft.
