An omnibus hearing was continued Thursday for a man accused of robbing a Chase Bank branch in Chehalis and attempting to get away on a bicycle.

Larry Bailey appeared before Judge Nelson Hunt in Lewis County Superior Court Thursday morning, where his attorney, Chris Baum, notified the judge that three interviews in connection to the charges against Bailey had been completed and more were being scheduled.

Baum added that there were no objections to any of the proceedings thus far.

Bailey, who remains in the Lewis County Jail on $250,000 bail, is charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance in connection with the January incident.

Court documents state that Bailey visited the bank in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard and implied he had a gun, reaching into his coat pocket. He told a female employee he had “nothing to lose” and wanted to go into the bank vault. Another employee accompanied them, and Bailey escaped on foot with cash.

A Lewis County deputy apprehended Bailey after he was spotted on a bicycle on the West Street overpass above Interstate 5. Bailey crashed his bike and successfully scaled a fence before being caught trying to scale a second one.

According to court documents, Bailey has federal convictions for bank robbery in 1988 and 2004, both in Washington state, and 1991 in Kansas.
