Adna Man Who Fled Arrest, Drew Police Gunfire Appears in Court

The man who drew gunfire from a Centralia Municipal Court security officer while attempting to flee Tuesday made his initial appearance in Lewis County Superior Court Thursday afternoon.

Phillip Austin Pinotti, 22, is charged with felony assault in the first degree, escape in the third degree and tampering with physical evidence.

Judge Richard Brosey set his bail at $50,000.

The Adna man’s arraignment date was set for 9:55 a.m. Dec. 31.

Brosey said Pinotti was not allowed to have any contact with the other individuals involved in the case, which include four people arrested for allegedly assisting him as he evaded capture before his arrest Wednesday morning in rural Chehalis.

Jaelynn N. Pluard, 22, Centralia, was seen on charges for allegedly hiding Pinotti in a residence while knowing he was wanted by law enforcement. Her bail was set at $5,000 and an arraignment was set for 3 p.m. Dec. 31.

Krystofer Yates, 19, was also arrested for helping Pinotti avoid arrest, and his bail was set at $10,000 with arraignment at the same time as Pluard.

Kayla M. Burleson, 22, of Centralia, was arrested on charges of tampering with physical evidence and rendering criminal assistance. Bail was set at $10,000 with arraignment scheduled for Dec. 31.

Miguel V. Martinez, 18, Centralia, entered a not guilty plea for tampering with physical evidence and rendering criminal assistance in the first degree. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday. His bail was set at $50,000.
