A suspect confessed to stealing meat from a neighbor’s freezer on three separate occasions after being caught in the act Wednesday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Curtis J. Farrier, 51, of Winlock, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Lewis County Jail on three counts of second-degree burglary and one count of violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded at 7:28 p.m. to the 100 block of Roe Road in Winlock to a report of a burglary in progress at a garage.

They arrived to find Farrier removing meat products from a freezer in the attached garage. He allegedly had already filled a backpack and his coat with the packaged meat.

According to the sheriff’s office, Farrier confessed to stealing meat from the same victims on two separate occasions. All together, he was accused of stealing approximately $300 worth of meat products.

Deputies also reported finding suspected methamphetamine in Farrier’s possession at the time of his arrest, leading to the VUCSA charge.
